Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for Around Town, operated by COZQ Limited. They apply to the iOS app, Android app and website.

In plain English

Around Town is a neighbourhood community. You must treat people with respect. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. We can remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these terms. Paid business listings bought in the iOS app are an auto-renewable Apple subscription.

1. Who we are

Around Town is operated by COZQ Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Privacy: privacy@cozq.com. Support: support@aroundtown.uk.

2. Your account

You must be old enough to use the service under UK law. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can create an account with Apple or Google. You can permanently delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete account) or on the website (Account, then Delete account).

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Around Town. You must not copy, reverse engineer, scrape or misuse the service. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and have no obligation to provide support for Around Town.

4. Community rules

Zero tolerance. Around Town does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. This includes hate, harassment, threats, sexual content involving children, scams, spam, and content that is illegal in the United Kingdom.

You agree to follow the Community Guidelines. You can report content or a person from a post menu or member profile. You can also block a person. Blocking hides their content from you immediately and notifies Around Town Support.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you post. You grant us a licence to host, display and moderate it so the service can work. If you delete your account, we delete your posts, comments and other authored community content. Marketplace listings still for sale are taken down. We may keep a minimum anonymised order record where we need it for disputes, tax or legal reasons.

6. Paid listings and auto-renewable subscriptions

Businesses can subscribe to Around Town Paid Listing. This unlocks Paid directory features for one claimed business listing. Payment does not verify a listing. The Verified badge still needs Around Town admin approval.

Website subscriptions use Stripe. Android subscriptions use Google Play Billing. iOS subscriptions use Apple In-App Purchase. Deleting your Around Town account ends Around Town entitlements. Store subscriptions may also need to be cancelled in the relevant store account settings, or they can keep renewing.

iOS auto-renewable subscription (App Store Guideline 3.1.2)

The following applies when you buy Around Town Paid Listing in the iOS app (store product local_monthly).

  • Title of the subscription / service: Around Town Paid Listing.
  • Length: 1 month.
  • Price: £2.99 per month (UK list price from Admin Paid plan). The App Store shows the live price for your Apple ID storefront at purchase and renewal. If that storefront price differs, the price Apple shows is the price you pay.
  • Payment is charged to the user's Apple ID / App Store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • The account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the cost of renewal (£2.99 per month, or the live App Store price shown for that renewal).
  • Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off in the user's Account Settings after purchase. On iOS: Settings, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions.

Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to provide support for Around Town. Around Town does not currently offer a free trial for Around Town Paid Listing.

7. Enforcement

We may remove content, warn, suspend or permanently delete accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines. Repeat or serious abuse can lead to an immediate ban. If you believe we made a mistake, contact Support in the app or website, or email privacy@cozq.com or support@aroundtown.uk.

8. Privacy

How we use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Liability

Around Town is provided as a community tool. We do not guarantee that listings, neighbours or local information are complete or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The latest version will be published at this address. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
